ScoreCloud Studio App Reviews
Now I can understand an app having extra features that won’t work if I don’t sing in. But not even running at all? That is just unacceptable!!! I don’t even trust an app that runs that way.
This app is awesome - I was looking for an app to write and print out my own scores, and this one is perfect! I remember the tediousness of the old notation and engraving software (haven’t used any for a few years now) and was expecting a steep learning curve, but was delightfully surprised to discover the user interface being very intuitive and clean, and with many options available for the composer/arranger plus super efficient keyboard shortcuts that hardly needed any explaining and the ability to printout or produce a PDF file very easily. If I could rate this app more than 5 stars I would!
I hate writing out scores. I like that with ScoreCloud I can compose on the piano and quickly get a score, adjust the score and listen to the effect! It tokk me a little while to figure out some details, but I tell you: there is no going back! I will never write a score by hand again.
I dislike that severely , If All I want to do is make an Assignment for my Guitar Student and send him.her a PDF file , Why do I have to join your website to do it ? I had this installed on my Computer for exactly 5 minutes , and uninstalled it
Thank you DoReMIR Team! Nice work! keep developing this the best music translator app. I’ve ever see, Your new project called Magic Wand’ Beta it’s just amazing! This app. should be on Essentials list in App Store cheers EMIL INDYGO
Like you, I want to create musical scores using a combination of live transcripting from a MIDI keyboard and/or clicking with a mouse. I downloaded this because it was free. Wow, for free, I would normally give it five stars. But, there are some issues. First, the good. When all is well, I’m able to play the lead on my midi capable keyboards and it quite perfectly transcribes the music properly. For that I would give it five stars. It also is amazingly great at being able to add notations such as chord symbles. And, it has some videos that make it pretty easy to learn. I whole heartedly would recommend this software for people who want to create their own scores… or simply one page lead sheets like I am doing. So, it’s with the spirit of continual improvement that I am going to knock one star off. That one star off because of several issues that make me loath to hop back in and keep using it; which is a real shame. Firstly, it’s obvious the developers want you to buy the pro version, but this feels like a distraction while you’re using the app. I’d easily would have paid up to $10 for this app and would have rather have done that then to feel like I’m getting half an app. Next, and perhaps most importantly, the user interface is kinda wonky and weird. There are these things called “snippets” that you can create, but the management of “files”, “songs”, “snippets”, etc. just has me confused. Why not just create the concept of a song and handle snippets like movie editing software handles clips? I kinda get it, but the selection, editing and deleting of snippets is just hard to deal with. IE, I can never seem to select a snippet and delete it. My biggest issue is that I can’t seem to figure out how to simply get the metroname going and then record from my keyboard. There’s not “start listening to midi keyboard” button. Instead, I *think* you hover your mouse over the bottom section of the app and just start playing. But it doesn’t always work and there’s no window for midi status to let you know the app is ready or connected. To the developers, I recommend they find some people to test the app and simply sit behind them watching how they interface with the app. I’m a developer myself and while this process can be painful to watch, it’s incredibly helpful to watch how people learn to interact with your application. You know what? I’ve changed my mind. I’m going to give this app 5 stars because it’s the best app I can find to do this. Even though it’s painful to use, gives me occasional errors (just click “ignore”) and I’ve struggled to simply select two adjacent notes and tie them together (there’s no function to do this?). Where was I? Oh, yeah, the point is that despite its obvious flaws, I think the developers deserve 5 stars because of the way it intelligently transcribes your playing into music. I just hope there are updates that address some of these issues. To the developers: Since you have no way of responding to reviews, I’ll hit the “contact” button to make sure you can contact me with questions.
Great Application. I am a record label owner and I was looking for a program to help compose sheet music. This is a great app to anyone that wants to create sheet music. I work with bands that sometimes work with classical composers this app can be a great connection of Pop Rock and the classical world. I would highly recommend this app.
Please~!!! I’m KOREAN.
This app is awesome~!!!!!! Please support Korean in lyrics. Please~!!!!!!!!!
I was looking for something to use to write out a 6-part vocal piece…I spent two and a half hours trying to figure out how to get the program to change a bar of 4/4 to 6/4, and then trying to figure out how to get the program to figure out that there are, in fact, 6 beats in a measure of 6/4 and not 1. Great if you’re going to play a piano into your microphone, I’m sure, and great if you don’t know anything about music - for anything more complicated than that or for a program that can do more than dictate a piece in one meter, get something else.
Extremely easy to use
I’ve never worked with MIDI software before and ScoreCloud made everything simple, intuitive and easy. Can’t recommend enough.
Theres been 30 seconds of a song thats been haunting me for days, and its all Ive been thinking about so I finally decided to make my own sheet music of it. I barely play piano anymore, and I only read paino tabs (They look like guitar tabs). Im a much more experienced singer than I am at piano at this point and I was looking for something that could translate my singing into notes. I was not let down. This app is everything I need and Ive converted half the song in less than 3 minutes. Im astonished and overwhelmed and so happy I found this app. Its clean, easy to use and so much fun. I feel bad for my roomates because my piano is back and ready for action. RECOMMEND!
This would be a wonderful app is only it would stop crashing! I would work on a song and suddenly it will say “Unexpected error” with the option of quitting or continue. Either one I choose I lose all content and makes me have to start from scratch. If it would stop crashing I would highly recomend this app. It has great potential but is lacking as of yet.
i have noticed one thing with the application and that is that you cannot change the tempo within a song is it possible for you guys to add that feature? but other than that i have had no problems with it so far and i really like that i can write my music now.
I needed to write out some vocal parts for a musical I am working on. This was a quick way to get the parts annotated and be able to hear them separately and together. I highly recommend it to those who need to hear what they are writing and to be able to provide notes for singers learning music.
Great app, but misses XML export. It would be so great if the scores could be further eddited in a professional music notation program like Finale ore Sibelius. Can’t wait for them to implement this feature! Then I’ll give it 5 stars.
This things seems cool, but Holy Hannah! From the first 5 minutes I was getting frustrated because it was impossible to add a dotted half note. The app insisted on adding two dotted quarter notes tied together instead. No matter what I did, it knew best, and the more I tried to get it to just add the dotted half, the more it would start tying things to previous measures and “correcting”measures I already had the way I wanted them. Also, all these toolbars and not a single one that was obvious for tying two notes together. It seemed to have no problem doing that itself, but I could not find the option. Also, “play” did not work. Finally, this whole idea of auto adding rests after every note to make up the remainder of the measure could not be more annoying. Just let me write the music for crying out loud and stop trying to second guess my every intention. So far, the app has NEVER guessed correctly, which makes what the developers probably think is a nice helpful feature a MAJOR obstacle. This app may shine in transcribing what you play/sing (I didn’t try it), but as a pure score entry system, I cannot imagine a more frustrating 30 minutes of my life. Scored 3 stars because I did not try all features and based on other reviews it appears to have its purpose.
This app saved me when I needed a tool for arranging a song. It’s highly intuitive - didn’t really need any time to learn to use it - and it works. AND IT’s FREE. wHATTTT
